Best Wishes to the Reid Family
The Eagles' organization announced today that Andy Reid would be taking a temporary leave of absence to attend to personal issues involving his family. I try to stay away from non-football rumor mongering, so I haven't written about the recent events here, but I do want to give Andy and his family best wishes as they go through a very difficult time.
I also have a theory that, by humanizing the man behind the impassive coach's facade, these incidents will begin to change the way some people in the Philadelphia area think about Reid. But that's for another day.

For anyone who thinks GCobb just ignored me, (I'm not rehashing this, Derek knows what I mean...heehee) because he didn't respond to my email, well I got something
for you. He just sent this(bottom of the email) out in his newsletter, and he's still decided to keep me on his mailing list for some strange reason.
Hey the friggin guy has insight into the game, he played for chirst sakes, so I'm not going to claim I know more than him about the X's and O's.(Opps I already made that claim)
Anyways, I'm not so self-absorbed or think I'm important enough that he has to take the time out for me, but he said he would come see me, or personally email me, I didn't beg him or even bring the subject up. He
did it in a sneaky way, and he wants more people to read him, and get himself out there. Good for him, he deserves that. I love to read everyone's insights into the Eagles. I don't agree with everything everyone says, but it doesn't mean I'm right. Most of the time I am, but so what. So here's his new email concerning the Philadelphia Eagles and ONLY the Eagles.
Eagles Fans,
Monday, February 12, 2007
Philadelphia Eagles President Joe Banner today announced that Andy Reid will take a leave of absence from his duties as head coach/executive vice president of football operations in order to attend to personal matters involving his family. The leave of absence will last until approximately mid-March, 2007. At that point, Reid will return to his regular duties with the Eagles.
I'm not gonna add his site, out of respect
for Derek. It's not my place to network or advertise people here.
But I'll continue to read Gary
Anyways,
I could care less. Andy Reid's personal life really doesn't concern me,I wish him well with his kids, but I already saw that crap plastered on the front pages of our philadelphia papers and tried not to read it, but I couldn't help it. It's like rubbernecking on the highway, everyone bitches about people who do it, but WE all do it.
I also emailed him and told him all this, and I remember the late hit he had on Randall C when he was a linebacker for the Cowboys. Two strikes against him already, late hit on Randall, and he did chose to play for the Cowboys. There shouldn't be enough money in the world for anyone ever involved in the Eagles organization to go that route(sarcasm intended)
It wasn't a blantant hit on Randall and he did make it a point to tell Randall he didn't do it, from what I remember, but still, come on I remember a lot of stupid things.

I see all my typos and I only have a high school education so I miss things, sorry people.
Anyways, since I am now Gary's good friend I've decided to check his site again. I see he made it a point to bring up Trotter always being on TO's side. I didn't even realize "self absorbed I never am wrong and will never admit any mistakes" Howard Eskin interviewed Owens.
He (Cobb) said Dawkins, my main man, wasn't crazy about TO. Dawkins is a leader, and he saw the shit that nutcase did, and trotter who is, don't get me wrong still a good player, is just as much responsible for dividing that lockerroom as TO. He just does it in a sneaky bitch way, and probably encouraged TO through the whole thing. Tried to tell Domobitch that, but he's too important to worry about what I have to say.
So I called WIP and ripped Trotter for being old and whatnot and everyone came to his side after I called, ie Didinger among all people. I love Didinger, he doesn't get involved with personal stuff and he's not a drama queen. He makes it a point not to have a life studying every friggin thing that goes on in the NFL, especially the Eagles. That poor family of his. It was my first call to Angelo and I choked and lost focus when he told me Trotter was as old as Mcnabb(30). That really wasn't my point, and Angelo shouldn't have tried to dillute my tirade with facts. I never got to make my point and I was going to call back, but I'll rant here.
My point is, let's get Trotter out of here, he don't like Mcnabb, and probably hasn't ever really liked him. He'll cause trouble next year if he stays, if he don't straighten up and shut the f*** up!!
I'll talk with Trot, cause I do like him, but please someone come with me and protect me from him, he'll kick my ass up and down the street!!
Thanks for your time

He "Do not like Mcnabb?" He doesn't like mcnabb, yall know what I meant
Anyways, for all the whiners who do think Garcia is better and the Eagles have a better chance with him, here's an option.
Trade Mcnabb(stupid idea I know) for something decent(doubt that will happen, see philadelphia sports history although I like what they did with Iverson and Webber, build for the future Sixers, and stop winning friggin games darn you guys, when the mavericks get up by 30 points, let them keep the game, don't waste energy trying to come back)
Anyways, let Garcia run the team for the few years he has left, groom a guy for the WestCoast with Garcia teaching him along the way. We have a good thing going here with Reid believe it or not, look how this team turned around from last year, and he has very few down years, save for when he was molding the team into his own. So stop bitching about Reid, we can only hope he's learned his lesson and realize Westbrook can be like Tiki Barber, and let him run the ball every game for more than just a few carries.
Dumb idea for the trade thing, but an alternative right? So there it is. Let's stop being the friggin dramadelphia eagles, and let's win
PS I hope Mcnabb wins no matter what, if he's traded or not. I'm pulling for that poor friggin guy who's not really been embraced in this town. He's high maintenance that's for sure, but he's a proven winner. You want Romo? Ha Ha Ha
Of course a team like the Arizona Cardinals can never EVER be labeled as chokers, because they ALWAYS SUCK!
So let's enjoy all these playoff games and this ride we're on, before Reid decides to go somewhere else
Thanks again

Here's something that i've mention to people who personally have the nerve to tell me and no one esle has ever brought this up that I know of in print or tv.
Let's go back to superbowl 39(what's the roman numeral????)
Eagles down by 3. Maybe a minute on the clock?
Patriots decide to run 3 times to run clock, and than they punt. Figuring they are going to make Mcnabb win or tie the game.
So Westbrook goes back for the punt, probably between the 20 and 30. I'm thinking wouldn't this just be great??
Westbrook returns it and this goes down in history, screw that return he did against the Giants the year before that turned the season around, he has a chance to win the superbowl. Or put Mcnabb in operating position to tie it. A minute is plenty of time, Tampa Bay did it about 33 seconds and no timeouts.
So at least we are looking at Westbrook with a chance to at least FAIR CATCH the ball and keep the Eagles away from their own goalline.
What does he do??? He let's it go, doesn't fair catch it, and the ball rolls back to the two yard line.
Mcnabb really has to operate out of a hole now, any sack is costly, costing 2 points and possession. (remember he was getting blasted by the Pats in that game)
So Westbrook never got any shit for that play.
Did this happen? Am I making this up? Did we talk about this two years ago, or were we too worried that the Eagles didn't score fast enough with under 5 minutes remaining and it got lost in the shuffle?
I only watched the game once, it's all I could take. So if it didn't happen, let me know. I'm trying to go back and find out.
Here's another case of Mcnabb getting ALL the blame and being labeled a choker because he's a quarterback. In Philadelphia to boot.
Remember Terrell Owens had that great game? Supposedly anyways. He never did manage to find the endzone, but he did tear up the likes of Troy Brown and the Pats wounded secondary.
I remember Terrell Owens coming off the plane greeting the Eagles fans who decided to show. He smiled and waved. No one else did that. But Owens was a hero in HIS mind, he did HIS part. Mcnabb apparently was the CHOKER. So Owens had his screw-up plan intact as soon as he got on that plane back to Philadelphia and the rest is Terrell Owens' history.
Someone feedback if they think i'm wrong. Or, let's check the game film on this one.
Mcnabb was backed up in his own endzone, he already had had a decent game, but he was being pounded. He also made mistakes early in the game, that could've help the Eagles be up by more than just the 7 that they started out with.

At the top, i meant the people who personally have the nerve to tell me Mcnabb is a choker

Here's the recap I found, the ball was downed at the 4, but I don't know how it got there. I think Westbrook could've caught it up near the 25 or 30 yard line.

Ok I know I can't shut up, but I have no game film and there's no detail about this punt.
Josh Miller punted the ball 32 yards right?
It went to the 4 yard line.
So he probably was standing on the Eagles 46 yard line right?
So he was probably trying to pooch it inside the 20 somehow.
At what point did Westbrook decide to give up on the ball? Was it landing from the air inside the 10? If not, should he have not have tried to make a play on it?
Reno Mahe would've been better served back there if the latter is true.

Ok so here I am again, after a beautiful valentine's day with a beautiful girl who claims she's only my friend. But she wants me so bad her friggin head is spinning off her shoulders. She's playing hard to get, and i'm obliging.
So I emailed Smallwood. Hey the guy takes the time to read my emails and why shouldn't he? He leaves his friggin email address in his columns!!!!
Here's his reply:
"i can't remember for sure, but i believe the eagles had the block on and i don't think there was anyone back there or the line drived it away from westbrook. i don't know, but if westbrook had simply let it go, you;d know it because people would've talked about it like they talked about not going to the no huddle"
my reply:
"I don't think so. I remember Westbrook not going after the ball. Now you could be right, and probably are right.
But I think everyone was so enraged about no going to the no-huddle they chose to let it go or forgot
about it.
Everyone figured that the Eagles, by not going to the no-huddle wasted so much time that the last
drive was irrelevant.
So what I"m figuring is, it got lost in the shuffle. Everyone forgot about it, because everyone just wanted
to complain about time management. Like I said, I could be wrong. But I'll find out soon enough.
If Westbrook would've fair caught it, no matter where it was, than it wouldn't have been back to the 4 yard line."
Again I mailed him later because I'm crazy nuts to find out
"Don't think I don't know that Westbrook SHOULD"VE let it go if it was landing on the fly inside the 10.
That's what I want to know. I'm sure the daily news has game tape. Check it out, Mcnabb will be your
best friend if you can get this going. I love Westbrook, don't be me wrong. Mcnabb just can't get
embraced in this friggin town because of ignorance and morons. I know the two go hand in hand
I know Mcnabb is high maintenance. He's also a proven winner.
Garcia, I love that guy too, but he's
never even played in a friggin Conference title game.
I'm just doing these things to impress a girl, cause dude, I want her, I don't need any press or money,
she's knows what I'm writing and sending.
I'm already a talented guitar player and singer. I got everything I need"
Thanks for you time
Bake
Ok now I may not be a talented anything, I was just being an ass. But who cares, maybe he'll find out.
I think it secretly turns on this girl that I'm doing manly things like writing this crap and trying to provide another insight into that superbowl game.
Hey I"m doing Mcnabb a solid also. Not so much Westbrook but he can takeit, hey he's going to be an elite NFL running back next year.
Look Smallwood said to me, Mcnabb is not a choker. Well he's preaching to the choir when he says that to me.
I mean a few weeks ago, I had to restrain myself from hitting someone who made me very upset talking about Mcnabb and just stupid ignorant stuff.
So there you have it, maybe I'm COMPLETELY WRONG. I'm pretty sure Westbrook went back for that punt, and just let it go though.
Posted by: Bake | February 15, 2007 at 09:39 AM
I still haven't found out about that punt, but I do know that I could probably work as a PR person for the Eagles. They either think like me, or they realize I'm such a GENIUS that they listened to me and didn't waste any time this offseason with Garcia. Good Luck to him, the Browns or the Lions should probably give him another look.
Should I have said general manager instead of PR person? Whatever.
So I just want to say something to maybe a few people out there, and I'm not really this kind of person, believe me, but I've earned this:
I TOLD YOU SO
I TOLD YOU SO
I TOLD YOU SO
I TOLD YOU SO
I TOLD YOU SO
I TOLD YOU SO
I TOLD YOU SO
I TOLD YOU SO
I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another thing I might add since I'm looking back at my other masterpiece columns that I wrote. Hey peeps it's not that hard to use spellcheck(not you derek, just check the comments on my videos and you'll know what i mean, although I do typo, it's because I type like a friggin maniac)
Anyways, when I say I had to restrain myself from hitting someone talking bad about Mcnabb, I really didn't mean it, I'm not a violent person, but when you call me
Mcnabb's bitch, just make sure you can back it up
Thanks again everyone
