This is just funny

From today's news:

Pennsbury product is back with Birds

Daily News Staff Report
The Eagles have brought back kicker E.J. Cochrane, a Pennsbury High product, to take some of the burden in training camp off David Akers.

Cochrane signed a 3-year contract yesterday, the team announced.

Cochrane served in a similar role last year before he was cut, then claimed off waivers by Green Bay. The Packers released him before the season began. Like Akers, Cochrane, 26, is leftfooted.

He played in three preseason games with the Eagles, connecting on one of his two field goals attempts and his only extra point.

The Eagles signed a second kicker.

To take some of the preseason load off of David Akers.

To a three-year deal.

Don't think I'd be going house shopping just yet.

I think the 3 year deal is the basic one they give to guys like this. The punter Rocca also got a 3 year deal. Obviously like you said, it's a completely fake 3 year deal...

I know E.J Cochrane has a better and stronger leg in kickoffs then Akers. He also has done better then Akers when Akers first started- I watched him throughout training camp because I am a huge Akers fan- but this kid has a huge chance of making the team- The word on the street is hes an "Automatic Akers" and that all radio stations and new papers believe its in the Eagles best interest to use him for kickoffs because we all know Akers is injured prone as well as getting older- it would be a benefit to the Eagles if they did bc it would save Akers leg through out the season for field goals and PAT's! This is Akers 10th season- We have to welcome this rookie for a second yr in a row with open arms! E A G L E S EAGLES!!!
