Australian Rules Punting

I have a bit of a soft spot for the Aussies, not least of all because my lovely sister-in-law is from Sydney and last spring I got to spend a great couple weeks checking out the country when we all went down for my brother's wedding.

While we were down there I caught a few telecasts of this very weird game where people run around in circles, bash each other's brains in and try to punt a ball through skinny goalposts so that some strangely-dressed guy will point at them (or give the thumbs up).  Needless to say, I was hooked.

So I thought it was great when the Eagles signed AFL legend Saverio Rocca a few weeks ago to give him a shot as their punter.  It looks like Rocca has finally made it to Philadelphia, because the Inquirer gives him and his former sport the full court press today.

Crikey, that bloke weighs 265 pounds.
