Who Needs Gloves?
As you may have guessed, I'm a huge Tony Hunt fan. Not sure how you couldn't be after watching him at Penn State the last few years.
Three updates on Hunt today:

With Brian Westbrook limited and Correll Buckhalter resting, rookie running back Tony Hunt was the star at Monday morning's practice bulldozing would-be tacklers for big play after big play...With the first offense against the second defense, Tony Hunt takes over. On five straight carries he marches the team down the field for 40 yards and a touchdown. He gets hit numerous times, including a lick from safety C.J. Gaddis, but always keeps running or falls forward. He looks shifty as well as strong, and displays some rare patience for a rookie running back.

Hunt had a very good day all together. He's starting to demonstrate why the Birds drafted him. He's a very good inside runner and he does a good job of getting everything he can get out of a run. I like his patience and the way he continues churning those legs after he's hit. I could see him as a complement to Westbrook because he's a no nonsense inside runner who gets what he can get.Inquirer's blog
Tony Hunt lined up with the first team offense in live drills. He looked great running the football, which says something about playing in front of the first-team offensive line. Hunt has been behind the third-team line for much of camp. The difference in who he was running behind was the difference in his running success.Hunt is an upright runner but showed the ability to get extra yards. [There's that "upright" thing again. Worked ok for this guy until the injuries caught up to him.]
And what the heck, just for fun, one from the old file:
"I didn't really think they were that physical of a team," Hunt said [of Tennessee in the Outback Bowl]. "They really boast and brag about their speed, and I think we brought something to the table that they really couldn't handle."
"We wanted to come out and see if they could handle us if we ran right at them," said Hunt. "They kind of struggled with that so we just kind of stuck to that, got a big defensive play and just ran the ball down there [sic] throat, killing the clock."
Sounds like a recipe for success in '07.
