Keep Calling It Tight!

The first game, the Redskins mauled the Eagles receivers, this game they're already calling to so much tighter.  That's huge.

Also if Washington stays in this defense all day, all we have to do is throw 15-yard in routes and RUN THE BALL.

I don't want to say it, but you know...

Also, Tuny Hunt active and Correll Buckhalter down?  I guess he's sick, but this could be Tony's chance to prove he deserves a larger role.

Just saw McNabb blow a throw on a WIDE OPEN receiver on 3d and 2, at about the Redskin 42.

So was it the "lack of a receiver" that accounted for that throw. Could Moss or Stallworth, or Cliff Branch or Fred Belintkof {sp?} or any other great receiver have caught that horrible throw.

The answer is no.

Now how can you guys possibly accept that kind of performance.

That's intolerable.

Still want to defend McNabb?

Just be honest, he's horrible right now.

Again WIDE OPEN on the conversion attempt, and the ball is delivered where...................?

As usual, the ball is where the receiver can't catch it.

And even on the TD throw to LJ, the ball was on his left hip, where the defender got a hand on it, instead of the ball being out front of LJ, where he, and only he, could get a hold of it.

But I suppose we shouldn't let little things like that trouble us.

Dan, where'd you go?
20/28, 251 yds, 4 tds.

Even if you take away the two westbrook TD passes, i'd take 18/26, 2 TDs.

Why do you have to pick a side, WR's vs. No. 5? Why can't it be that both aren't exactly what they should be? In my mind, that is really what's going on.

Doyle -- McNabb's final totals were definitely fine, but what about the sacks taken because he refuses to get rid of the ball? What about the fumbles?

Dan -- Yes, McNabb is off, but consider why. He's coming off major major surgery. I don't know where, but someone, either the Eagles or another NFL team are going to have a very good quarterback next year.

Take a deep breath, Dan. We won, remember? :)

As for improving our WR corps, what about this WR on WAS who looks pretty good? James Thrash, I think his name is. Seems to have good speed, good hands. And he's not even starting in Washington! I bet we could get him for a 5th rd pick!

Hopefully next week's tune-up against the Dolphins is uneventful and we get back to .500. I much prefer the possible playoff talk to the '08 NFL draft talk.

Oh, fellas, those earlier comments were posted DURING the game.

Take a look at the time of posting.

But that game got fascinating late.

It's been one hell of a day of football, including San Diego having to sweat out their once big lead against Indianapolis.
