Progress
We're finally getting there on my pet peeve:
Every week we get these stories about how such-and-such a tight end will be Gocong's "toughest test yet." I'm sure it will happen again when Jason Whitten comes to town. Guys, can we all please just keep in mind that Gocong spends half the game on the bench, there's no way Johnson trusts him yet to consistently match up one-on-one with a guy like Shockey, and very few linebackers can stick with these modern tight ends in space.
Tight end Jason Witten is in the midst of a year with a team-leading 42 catches for 540 yards and four touchdowns. Strong-side linebacker Chris Gocong will be responsible for covering Witten some of the time, but look for the Eagles to ask safety Brian Dawkins and even nickel cornerback William James to cover Witten part of the time.
Progress.

I know, this annoys me to. It's this Madden video game mentality. That every player always covers the same guy on every play.
I'd be shocked if Gocong covers Witten even 25% of the routes he runs.
