A TiVo Game Today
When we booked our airline tickets to California two months ago, by far the cheapest flight was today ... during the Eagles game. I figured at the time that the Eagles would either a) be out of the playoff hunt by now or b) otherwise this game would be a great candidate for NBC's flex scheduling and I'd be able to see it at night. Oh well.
Anyway, I'll be in the air for most of today's game, although I'll be able to catch a lot of it on our layover via pdanet > slingbox > DVR. But that means there's a good chance no blog post until much later tonight or tomorrow. Just so y'all didn't think I was leaving ya hangin'.
Merry Christmas, everyone.

Well, they've put up 24 1st half points, and they're not done yet.
It's almost as if this is a completely different offensive unit.
This team can be so damn frustrating.
Why the wild swings in performance and output?
Today, in this 1st half, they look like world beaters.
Then other times, ..................... well, you know how that goes.
It's mind boggling. I can't recall a team in this city's sports history, that is so damn strange like that. I'm not a betting man, but I'd NEVER drop so much as a dime on the Eagles, 'cause you never know which team is going to show up on any given day.

In the dubious contest for the most idiotic offensive play of the season, I think we can all say "we have a winner."
Check out the penultimate play of the first half, a swing pass called by the New Orleans Saints, which ordinarily would have blown the Saints' chances for a field goal.
But for Grammatica's blast, that Saints play should have cost that team points.
I don't know what Payton was thinking calling that play, against a fast defense, with the speed to close rapidly on the perimeter.
Just brain dead, absolutely brain dead.
