Even Central Ministry of Information and Education wants Dunavin to keep quiet this offseason

Posted by Derek

Spuds at the podiumI guess I'm not the only one who wants to be sure that Donovan McNabb keeps his blog posts/ invitations to hullaballoo(s) to a minimum this offseason -- even Official Corporate PR Blathermonkey Dave Spadaro is begging for calm and quiet.

In a rather fluffy and otherwise fresh-content-free post on the Birds site yesterday, Spuds had the following to say in re: Dunavin:

Having a great mental off-season is just as important as having a great physical off-season for McNabb. My advice to him -- not that he's asking -- is to lay low and work hard and enjoy the injury-free months. We've already seen, as evidenced by his most recent blog entry, that every word McNabb utters is going to be front-page news. McNabb should just enjoy the tranquility and the good health and have himself a drama-free off-season.

Will that happen? I don't know. McNabb isn't scheduled for any press conferences, and he may or may not be at the Super Bowl -- there are no endorsements planned -- so maybe we won't hear from McNabb until the post-draft mini-camp. That would be good news for McNabb and this football team.

Right, so the guy who's paid to apologize on your behalf just begged you to keep quiet. Yikes. I mean, I completely agree with Spadaro (and agree because I only want the best for McNabb and the Birds), but that's me, not the org-an-eye-zay-shun.

(Still, it would have been nice to see a blog entry from McNabb about T.O.'s little tearful entreaty from Sunday.  I would have cut him some slack on that.)
