I was working at the Township office in Valley Forge when they denied him a permit to build his first carwash. It was going to be on that deserted corner across from Denny's and the bank and on the other side of 202 from the Gateway Shopping Center.
That's when he decided to open them in California. Funny, I never thought I'd hear another word about it.

There are other funny things, too. Like how it was Dutch in that car and not Kruk. And that can't be his oldest son, since I remember Dykstra coming out to watch his kid play little league games when my brother was in the 10-12-year-old league a looong time ago.
He used to sit out by the rightfield fence in a lawn chair, minding his own business.

Yeah, I thought it was Dutch.
Actually, it is HIS oldest son. The kid who played ball with me was actually his wife's son from a previous marriage.
All this talk has gotten me excited about the Phillies this year. Of course, I read an article on ESPN yesterday that claimed the Braves were back. I'm still trying to shake off the cold shivers.
