Poor Jevon Kearse

Some strange comments on Kearse from two former Eagles who usually know better:
“Fans loved Jevon when he got here, but he got paid a bunch of money and I think people were expecting him to come in and be the savior, to get 20 sacks a season and be unstoppable,’’ said former Eagles defensive end Hugh Douglas, a teammate in 2004. “It’s hard. The expectations were too high. No one could live up to that.’’
...
“The media treated him bad here,’’ said Mike Quick, a five-time Pro Bowl receiver with the Eagles in the 1980s who is now an analyst for the team’s radio broadcasts. “I think they were expecting what he did in Tennessee when he was younger, and it just never happened for one reason or another.
Stupid fans. Stupid media. Expecting a guy with a $66 million contract to top out at more than 7.5 sacks in a season.
Although Hugh recovers a little:
“I still think Jevon has a lot of athletic ability. Jevon’s biggest problem is he needs to become more physical and I don’t know if that’s one of the traits he’s ever had,’’ Douglas said.
