Linkage
Frequent commenter Tracer Bullet emailed me last week a story he'd done about the local roller girls league. It's oh-so-close to out-of-bounds for this blog, but it is a) Philly-focused and b) nominally a sport, so I meant to throw a link up and just forgot when things got a little nuts last week.
The pictures are all pretty tame but the vernacular could be non-work-safe if you have (or are) a somewhat uptight boss.
The league needs a slogan. How about, "If your not attractive enough to be a Suicide Girl..Roll around with us"? I hate to shit on anyone's fun but if they play this straight its boring and no one believes in pro wrestling anymore.

Hey, the Philly RollerGirls do have a slogan: We're "As Hard and Cracked as the Liberty Bell!" If you doubt we're an ACTUAL vs. a NOMINAL sport, c'mon out to a bout. Better yet, see two full days of REAL derby action at the East Coast Derby Extravaganza, June 21-22. If you decide the sport is too boring for you, there'll be Beer, BBQ & a pool party.
