Now What's Lito Worth?
So I know some people think the Eagles "always ask for too much in trade," but not dumping Lito for some crappy third-round draft pick is looking pretty good right now, isn't it?
I mean, Washington gave up a second and a sixth for Jason Taylor, a very fine player who can't wait to stop playing football. And the news has just broken that the Saints have traded a second and a fifth for Jeremy Shockey.
Now Shockey's not a bad player, but his numbers are really just a half-step better than L.J. Smith's. Tell me in a league where cornerbacks are considered about twice as valuable as tight ends that Lito Sheppard isn't worth more in a trade.
Also, so long Shockey. Been nice hating you.

Kind of interesting thing I read today about Shockey in the NY media. His rookie season is still statistically his best. He really was never as good as advertised.
ANother great stat from the NY media. The Giants corps of TEs without shockey have a grand total of 15 combined career receptions.

Anybody who is assessing Shockey by mere numbers, is borderline close to revealing himself as a bean counter, and a number cruncher.
We all know that Shockey can be a breakout player, and that he's not been fully utilized.
And it's a joke to compare LJ to Shockey, 'cause LJ isn't even in his league.
Shockey is a great player. And everybody in this town would take him over LJ in a nanosecond.

Ill make this real easy for every one LITO SHEPPARD IS THE BIGGEST FRAUD IN THE NFL..... it was shown when he was put on the block and no one wanted him.... He has had very little big plays overall as a pro but the ones he deos happens to be on monday or sunday night in a national spot light im not a Beagles fan but i lived in the area my whole life so ive seen just about every Beagles game since sheppard was got here.....

Uhhhh, No we wouldn't take Shockey over LJ. Shockey is a marquee player, but he would not work in the Eagles locker room. We have already been down the road with that type of personality on our team, and it tore the locker room apart. LJ keeps his head down, his nose clean, and does his job. He's a perfect fit for our team, and I'm stoked that he's healthy and ready tear up the red zone in 08.
Lito Sheppard is a great corner, and any team would scoop him up in a second. His only real setback is the injury bug. Easily worth a 2nd rd pick, and an additional pick.

Lito Sheppard doesn't make big plays?
Come on "Jo Jo", a Cowboys fan should know better than anyone that Lito is a playmaker.

The non-Oakland Randy Moss has really been a choir boy compared to people like Shockey and TO. That's him in Minnesota and New England. All "receivers" are prima donas, but Moss is nowhere in the attitude realm of the two formers.
