Fletcher Smith Strikes Back
Someone is NOT happy that he's not going to be getting his agent percentage on Westbrook's new deal:
Though Eagles running back Brian Westbrook now has a new contract that reportedly will pay him $21 million over the next three years, a league source [Ed. Note: Really now, this one is too easy] tells us that the same amount of money was available before Westbrook switched from agent Fletcher Smith to agent Todd France...
As far as we can tell, Westbrook simply became impatient with the renegotiation process. Since he couldn’t change teams, he opted instead to change agents. In the end, he’s in the same place he would have been if he hadn’t made the switch.

It was so sick to watch McFlabb say on tv last night that its nice to see when a player gets paid when there supposed to and Joe Banner saying they did the right thing by paying a player who out proformed his contract...... Its almost like you guys been dow this road B4 and I hate to admit it but maybe the Beagles finnally realized that having 30mil in cap space isnt as imprtant as winning the bowl..... Mcflabb is so two faced its hard to watch....
GO BOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Westbrook & Owens situations are probably not as similar as you think, "Jo Jo".
Unlike Owens, Westbrook showed up, didn't cause trouble, didn't bad-mouth any of this teammates, and conducted himself with dignity and class.
Westbrook's been an Eagle since 2002, as well, and signed his contract early in the 2005 season. Owens wanted a long-term deal that HE'D JUST SIGNED A YEAR BEFORE torn up.

Westbrook also didn't get a good contract and the following year demand it to be re-done for more money.

Interesting how the change in agents didn't make a difference. Someone tell that to Drew Rosenthief.
