No Reggie Brown, No Brian Westbrook
This injury situation is starting to get a little ridiculous:
Injuries: "The players that are out will be (G) Shawn Andrews, (WR) Reggie Brown, (S) J.R. Reed, and (RB) Brian Westbrook. (DE Juqua) Parker did not practice today, but he's feeling better and he will travel. He will, most likely, be out there playing."
I hope this is just smoke and mirrors:
On WR Kevin Curtis' progress: "Kevin is doing a good job. He will travel and be with us. He practiced with us today and yesterday with the first group. We are just gradually bringing him back in. He is prepared to play."
On whether Curtis will factor into his plans for the 49ers game: "We will see when we get there how it all works out."
Only a week or so ago, Curtis said this:
Wide receiver Kevin Curtis, still limited in practice, doesn't sound as if he expects to be playing soon. "I haven't gone 100 percent full speed and cut on it yet, because I can tell it's not ready for that,'' said Curtis, who underwent sports-hernia surgery Aug. 21.
Let's give him the extra two weeks.
Can we start up the Andrews conspiracy theories again yet? This sore back thing just isn't satisfying me.

On the plus side, with Brown out, Jackson should see more snaps. Of course, he should see more snaps regardless of Brown's health.

This may be a good time to see the character of this team. On the heels of losing two games that could have easily been two wins, the Donavon Mcnabb meeting add to that all the injuries to key contributors and the whole fullback enigma. It would be great to see the Eagles destroy the 49ers.

I think the significance of these injuries is getting overlooked quite a bit when this team is evaluated week to week. Pick a good team in the NFL, take away two starting receivers, a starting lineman, and the starting running back... You'd be hard pressed to find a team that wouldn't affect greatly.
