Week Seven Picks

The person winning this either must be cheating or should quit his day job.  Those are insane numbers.

Slow and steady continues to be my motto.  And also not overthinking things.  Slow, steady and not overthinking things.  Also, not making any dumb picks.  There are four keys here, slow, steady, not over thinking things and not making -- you know, we'll just come back in and start over.

Giants aren't that good.

PIT (-10) @ CIN
Cincy is that bad.

TEN (-8) @ KC
This is the week Tennessee got all the pub.  By all rights that should mean that this is also the week they stub their toes.  That's just the way the NFL works.  However, Kansas City is terrible. 

MIN @ CHI (-3)
Throwing all trends, reversals, etc., out the window, Chicago is the better team.  They also have a very good run defense.

SD @ BUF (off the board = straight up even)
Going to have to watch this game.  San Diego seems like the more desperate team.  Also, they have a better point differential than Buffalo, despite the vast disparity in records.

NO @ CAR (-3)
Whatever.  I can't figure Carolina out.

DAL (-7) @ STL
"Everyone doubted us.  We wanted to make a statement today.  How 'bout dem Cowboys!"  Blah blah blah.  Meanwhile, St. Louis sucks and your faux solidarity does not fool us, Dallas.

BAL @ MIA (-3)
Baltimore is another team I can't figure out.  I doubt that defense will be confused by any fancy-schmancy rushing attacks, though.

DET @ HOU (-8.5)
Just too many points for a team that isn't that good.

NYJ (-3) @ OAK
Just not enough points for a team that is faaaaar better than Oakland.

IND (-1.5) @ GB
Sports gal picked GB.  Sports guy took IND.  That's my tie-breaker.

CLE @ WAS (-7)
Seven points?  Against a team that just beat the Giants?  For a team that just lost to St. Louis?  This does not make sense to me.

SEA @ TB (-10.5)
Setting up the inconceivability of the result in two weeks.

Another team gets it whack at the wounded dragon.  DEN 27 - NE 16
