This Is BS

I realize that not a single person out there still cares about Tony Hunt, other than me.  But I'm still correcting this record:

Chicago: Down by four points, less than 5 minutes to go, first-and-goal at the 4-yard line. Buckhalter, 3 yards. Tony Hunt, now dearly departed, runs the wrong way for no gain. Buckhalter, no gain. Buckhalter, no gain - with a missed block by tight end Matt Schobel along the way.

First of all, Hunt didn't "run the wrong way."  That's sloppy BS that makes it sound like he went right and the offense went left.  This wasn't some Moatsian mental error.

What happened on that play is that he followed his block outside and when the blocker -- shock! a non-fullback fullback -- got stoned, he didn't make it in.  Some people think he could have cut it back inside and scored.  That may have worked, but there were TWO people in the hole everyone retroactively wants him to run through.  Maybe he gets in, maybe they stop him, but you can't just wish those guys away.
