The MVN guys popped me an email last week with five questions about Philly's offseason so far:

1. Philly's roster remains intact from last season, for the most part, although they have lost guys like Jon Runyan, Tra Thomas, and Brian Dawkins to free agency.  What's been your reaction to the offseason activity for the Eagles, up to this point?

That's a two-part answer.  I'm fine -- or more than fine -- with every single move they've made so far.  Fans weren't expecting the wholesale housecleaning, but it's all been defensible.  The old guys aren't the players they used to be and the whole point of hoarding all those draft picks every year is that at some point the young guys have to get on the field.

Lito Sheppard definitely needed to go; there wasn't room any more on the roster for Greg Lewis; Correll Buckhalter is a gutty, resilient guy who doesn't give them the home run threat you'd like to see from a guy who only gets a few touches a game; etc., etc., etc...

My problem, though, is that I'm struggling to see many spots where they've gotten obviously better.
