One Liners

Not much time today, so here goes:
I forgot about Eckel, which is actually a really good point, but the rest of this seems awfully sanguine.
How can someone take 100 pills a day?
Every time we get a look behind the curtain, I'm simply amazed at the amount of work these guys do. Individual rankings for every player in the league? (Although you wonder if the "coach's assistant" in charge of that book just cribs it all from Madden.)
Still no good Eagles replays on NFLN for an offseason rewind, but next week they're giving the 30-minute "Game of the Week" treatment to this 2006 Giants clash.
Access to an entire league's worth of news and King writes about F---- again. Also, does his NBC contract guarantee free PR on SI or is that just a value add? And then he goes off on that whole John Lynch comparison without explaining why Harrison was hated by so many players. Dawkins played just as hard and just as fearlessly his whole career, and yet he doesn't have enemies around the league. Wonder why that could be ...
Yeah, right. And once they start losing again and all those "fans" jump back off the bandwagon ...
With the exception of the guy who replaces Dawkins, Brent Celek has more pressure on him than any other guy on this team. Interesting read on his offseason work here.
The thesis here, that the Lakers are totally prepared and the Magic have picked a poor time to chuck out what has worked and start experimenting, seems spot on. I thought Nelson played way too many minutes in game one and I couldn't understand half the lineups SVG was running out there last night. I also couldn't understand why Kobe was being so passive when J.J. Redick was guarding him. It's almost like the Zen Master asked Kobe not to abuse him so that the Magic would keep him on the court, being generally ineffective.
