This Is Actually A Cool Story

It hasn't been the most uplifting past week or so for Eagles fans, but we should probably take a few minutes off from the communal grumpfest to talk about the team's new #3 quarterback.
You won't even find a picture of Matt Nagy on his official -- for now -- team page. There's not much point in doing all that work on Monday for a guy who won't be on the roster by Friday. But after four years at Delaware and six years in the (currently defunct) Arena League, the 31-year-old is finally getting a chance to pull on an NFL uniform.
That's pretty darn cool. And it's also kind of cool to add a guy who last season had a 74/8 TD/INT ratio. Not too shabby. Local guy, too.
Obviously we take our sports pretty seriously around here. I'm the last person to suggest it should be any other way. But sometimes you just have to take a step back and appreciate the moment ... even if he gets his butt trucked playing behind a makeshift offensive line and throwing to receivers whose names he may not even know. The results don't really matter so much on this one.
