Live Eagles Football Is Still Live Eagles Football

Yup.  I'm the guy who's going to the fourth preseason game. 

Yes, the one where none of the starters play.  Where they still charge you full price.  Scoff away.  My rationale:

• I'm an out-of-towner, and as an out-of-towner, I have no excuse for not seeing my team when they come to visit, third-string talent or not.  (I mean, I'm not so far that I don't make it down for three games a year, but still, we're rationalizing here.)
• I get to check out Buddy Ryan's spawn in person.  I'm thinking of adopting the Jets as my AFC squad for the year.  I can't argue with the colors, and I sure can't quarrel with guys who show up for work and declare that they're not interested in kissing Bill Belichick's rings.  Me neither!  That guy can shove it! 
• I vowed never to pass up an opportunity to heckle Lito Sheppard, despite the fact that he is the title character in the best Eagles video that has been/ ever will be on YouTube.  If you've got a better one, I'm dying to see it.  The half-beat of silence before the pick?  The fireworks at the end?  Spectacular.
• I'm a hardcase who will actually recognize the fourth-stringers and have some interesting to say about them.  I can only assume this will completely horrify the Jets fans who have the misfortune of sitting nearby.
• Despite the part where the starters won't play this evening and absolutely nothing is at stake, the guys who are out there will likely play their guts out.  This might be their last chance to impress their own coaches as well as get on tape for the rest of the league.  It might be the only game they ever start.  And for some guys, this might be the last game they ever play.  (Andy Reid actually had some good comments on this topic in his interview with Ike Reese the other day.)  Essentially, all the ingredients for an entertainment product that will be superior to your average NBA regular-season game.   
• I'll get to debut my shiny new green DeSean Jackson jersey.  I'm not not excited about that.
