Blowout Today, Right?

Posted by Derek

Looks like most everyone is predicting a close win today against a Wasington team that a) doesn't get blown out much and b) usually makes the Eagles work for a win.

Yeah, I'm not really seeing that. The list of Redskins missing this contest is long, and it includes such pivotal performers as Chris Cooley, Clinton Portis, Chris Cooley, Albert Haynesworth, Chris Cooley and most of the season-starting offensive line. How exactly is Jason Campbell supposed to move the ball if he doesn't have any time and is missing his big bailout options?

(And for the "Well, the Cowboys struggled against them argument," I think we can handle that one with the explanation that Dallas really isn't all that good.)

The Eagles are missing some guys too, of course, but the backups should be able to hold down the fort. I don't think thIs is going to be close. Eagles win big today and we all go back to feeling excited about them again.

(Programming note: I'm flying during the game today, so the role of open thread opener and game event overreactor will be handled by Gabe and Sam.)
