Everyone Does It

Posted by Derek

I noticed this play during the Pats / Saints game when they gave us an end zone look.  There's nothing particularly interesting about it, but I think it's worth posting nonetheless (click for full size):

Bradymiss

Brady misses a wide open Kevin Faulk in the right flat on a second-and-two.  He instead tried to force a ball to Welker over the middle, and also ended up getting hit on the play because he held on to the ball for awhile.

From the pictures, you can see why Brady wasn't even looking over there.  The Saints' pre-snap alignment -- with three defenders over a single receiver -- would have made it easy to cover Faulk on the play.  New Orleans just completely busted the coverage, which Brady had to assume wouldn't happen.

Even the great ones do this sometimes.
