Put Him On The Practice Squad!
Posted by Sam |
As a service to viewers of the fourth quarter of tonight's game, I thought I would remind everyone of the rules for practice squad eligibility, as well as list which Eagles are (and aren't) eligible.
A player is eligible for the practice squad as long as
- He has not dressed (been on the 45 man roster) for 9 or more games during any prior single season; and
- He has only spent time on a practice squad in two or fewer seasons in his past
Who Is Eligible
All rookies, whether drafted or not; plus
Martell Mallett
Jordan Norwood
Dobson Collins
Chad Hall
Cornelius Ingram
Dallas Reynolds
AQ Shipley
Mike McGlynn
Greg Isdaner
Fenuki Tupou
Ken Parrish
Who Is Not Eligible
Eldra Buckley
Nate Lawrie
Max Jean-Gilles
King Dunlap
Trevor Laws
Antonio Dixon
Moise Fokou
Dimitri Patterson
Geoffrey Pope
Macho Harris
Quintin Demps
All of these ineligible players have dressed for too many NFL games in a single season during their career, except for Lawrie and Pope, who each have spent three separate years on a team's practice squad in the past.
You might think some of the above goes without saying ... but then you'd be surprised what I've read out there in the past.
