Don't Get Injured, Second Half Open Thread
The Eagles appear to be hitting the third preseason section of their schedule. What a weird season.
So far, not the homecoming either former Eagle was hoping for, either.

We can clinch a playoff spot with a win. I really hope that happens ... but this season hasn't really been about doing things the easy way. And who knows how the snow will affect things. I saw on the NFL game day show that the field looked pretty clear as of about noon, so it should be a great day for football. I love attending games like this -- which is why I live in New England, I suppose.
So I am envious of Bounty today. Hopefully there will be snow in the stands. Always makes for a great fan experience.
The Chargers giveth, and hopefully the Eagles can take advantage. The weather certainly doesn't make it any easier, but that's the fun of the game, right? Consider the Game Day Open Thread launched.
Thanks to the fearless prediction by Derek below, I am now officially terrified of this game. My own opinion is more like the consensus: close. Not because I think the Redskins offense can do much, but because I respect their defense a great deal. I just don't think we can score enough points for a blow out. I don't think their offense can score enough to beat us though. Which means minimizing turnovers and sound special teams play are musts.
With that, let the game day open thread commence!
This is the point where I have always posted this video. I guess I can't do that any more. Although I'm still watching it.
Eight times and counting so far.
I think we'll go with this one for now. It's a little eccentric, but I'm digging it:

Ah, a national preseason game. We all get to watch the game at the same time and hear the same commentary and breaking news -- yes, I still ticked that the Patriots' announcing team didn't mention the Vick thing until the fourth quarter last week.
So, with that, let the commentary on the King Dunlap show commence!

With Derek hiding under his bed to avoid hearing about the game before he gets to see it himself at 11 p.m. on NFL Network -- and let's be honest, he's also trying to avoid blame in case the ground opens up and swallows the Linc during the game tonight -- the task of opening tonight's game thread has fallen to me.
Request to those watching LIVE in Philly: Since I am going to be watching the Patriots crew here in Boston, I won't hear whatever Eagles-specific insight or interviews that might come from Hugh Douglas, Kevin Reilly, Herm Edwards and/or Dave Spadaro. And since the NFL Network usually splits games like this in half (first half to one team's crew, second half to the other), those watching on NFL Network at 11 (like our fearless leader) won't have the benefit of that insight either. So if anything interesting comes up there, it is certainly worth sticking in the comments.
And with that ... time's yours.
Bring it.
Long night. Open thread.
Was that perhaps the worst intro ever? Did Andy Samberg write it?
Open thread time, fellas. Here we go.
